This story is all about a fat, lazy, and orange clever cat named Garfield who hates Mondays so much, loves lasagna and eats a lot. But things aren't the same anymore when Garfield's owner Jon Arbuckle takes him to the vet where he buys a second pet, a dog named Odie. However, Odie is then abducted by an evil local celebrity named Happy Chapman and it's up to Garfield, to find and rescue Odie.
